In 1975, Harry and Alva Creech bought McLeod's Funeral Home in Wainwright, Alberta. McLeod's Funeral Home was a locally owned family business which had been started by Mr. Frank McLeod in 1921. Mr. Frank McLeod was 83 years old at the time of the sale to the Creech's. Out of respect for the McLeod Family, Harry and Alva operated the business as McLeod's Funeral Home for many years.
In 1991 Harry and Alva's son, Todd began working with them in the funeral home. In 1993 Harry and Alva's daughter, Kim joined them in the funeral business. With both of their children becoming involved in the business, Harry and Alva moved to Lloydminster and started Creech's Funeral Home. In 1997 the Creechs opened Crossroads Funeral Chapel In 2002 they moved to their present location on Vermilion's main street in the former RCMP building. The Creech's brought the first crematorium to the area in the year 2000 . It was situated in Lloydminster until November of 2009 when Harry and Alva moved it to Vermilion where it is more centralized. The crematorium has served the cremation needs of over 1600 families. Harry and Alva are extremely proud that both their children, Todd and Kim are licensed funeral directors and we are a family business that will meet the needs of the people for many years to come.
